Privacy notice

What LabGhar keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it, in plain words.

What we keep

Your name, your email or username, and your password (stored scrambled, so nobody can read it). Your class and, if a school added you, your school and section. What you do in the labs: answers, notes, scores, badges and goals. Your leaderboard name, if you join a leaderboard. Messages you send us, and payment screenshots if you buy a plan. When you signed in, and from which device and internet address. If you order from the shop: your name, phone number, delivery address and what you ordered.

What we work out

The country you are in, from your internet address, to choose the language and the prices you see. This uses DB-IP's country list kept on our own server, so your address is not sent anywhere.

Why we keep it

To run your account, save your progress, show your school how its students are doing (for school accounts), check payments and answer your messages. There are no adverts and we do not sell your data. To see how LabGhar is used, we count visits with Google Analytics (see Cookies).

Cookies

The ones the site needs: one to keep you signed in, one for your language, and one that remembers your country for a day. We also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies, to count visits and see which pages are used, so we can make LabGhar better. It does not get your name, email or answers, and we have turned off its advertising features. No advertising cookies.

Children

If you are under 16 and make your own account, a parent or guardian must agree first. If your school made your account, your school is responsible for it. The leaderboard shows only the name you choose, and only after you decide to join. A parent or guardian must agree before a student pays for a plan.

Who can see it

You. Your school's teachers and admins, if your school added you (they see your progress, not your password). The LabGhar team who run the site. A parent or guardian you choose to send your weekly summary to (what you finished, never your answers). Emails go through our email service, and reminders through your browser's notification service if you turn them on. The people who run the shop see your phone number and address for your orders, and the delivery service gets them to bring your parcel. Google Analytics counts visits for us (see Cookies). We give your data to nobody else, unless the law says we must.

Your choices

On your Account page you can download everything we keep about you, and delete your account. If your school made your account, ask your school to remove it. You can leave the leaderboard at any time.

How long we keep it

While your account is open. When you delete it, your name, email, notes, messages and sign-ins are removed straight away. Your lab results stay only as anonymous numbers. Payment records, and shop orders without your name, phone or address, are kept for as long as the law asks.
